I was upgraded to a beautiful twin room with japanese futon bed. I had a marvellous and delicious breakfast with many different dishes, the food was superb!

The Japanese-style twin room at Oyado Yamakyu in Takayama was equipped with central heating, a private safe, and multi-channel TV. the location was fantastic, offering a splendid view of the main river and surroundings. Additionally, the ryokan was conveniently close to local restaurants and attractions, Takayama train station, and the shopping area.

My stay at this charming inn was absolutely delightful. The kaiseki meals were delicious and the onsen was a relaxing treat. I loved wearing the yukata and exploring the beautiful autumn foliage. The staff were friendly and the free shuttle service was convenient. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this inn.

The booked room was quiet and functional with a Japanese futon bed. the location was marvelous, for example, Takayama Jin'ya was at a moderate distance from the hotel. the staff was pleasant.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which offered great value for money. The attention to detail in the interior decor really made me feel like I was living in an ancient Japanese house. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and some of them even spoke basic English. The location of the hotel on the edge of town was perfect for me, as it was in a quiet area and directly next to several Temples. I stayed in a room on the second floor, which had a nice view over Takayama. The Japanese futon bed was comfortable, and I had a peaceful night's sleep. The breakfast provided a good mix of Japanese and western items, which was a great touch for us Americans.

All was just fine during my stay.

Over Xmas I had a great time at this charming hotel. Everything was perfect. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. the food was delicious! I enjoyed complimentary slippers and a safe in our room. the location was central and within walking distance to many attractions.

The futon beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were too thin. the room was quite plain and lacked any decorations or amenities other than the safe.

I recently stayed at Yamakyu in Takayama for one night and it was an amazing experience. The calm and peaceful atmosphere made for a relaxing stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to provide excellent service. The homemade dinner and breakfast were delicious and gave us a taste of local cuisine. The onsen was quiet and inviting, perfect for a morning soak. The hotel even offered free parking and a shuttle to the station. The beautiful antiques and celebrity autographs added a unique touch to the ambiance. I can't wait to visit again.
